2011 Tony Awards Red Carpet, Best and Worst Dressed

Although the Tony awards ceremony isn’t particularly known for its smoldering red carpet, the art inclined crowd impressed this year with some memorable looks. Unfortunately the night wasn’t entirely void of high fashion crimes. Let’s take a look at some of the fashion (and it’s victims) that turned out for Broadways biggest night.
BEST DRESSED

1. Catherine Zeta Jones:
There is nothing bi-polar about this sparkly Elie Saab gown that Zeta Jones radiantly presented in. The color and style of the gown are both age appropriate and the plunging neckline and open-back add just the right amount of sultry. She looks Gorgeous!!

2. Sutton Foster:
The Tony winner for the ‘best performance by a leading actress in a musical’ was also a winner on the red carpet with this figure hugging olive strapless chiffon Michael Kors gown. She was spot-on with choosing to keep the accessories at a minimum, as the ruffles on the dress didn’t need any embellishing. The bronze python barrel clutch compliments the look perfectly.

3. Laura Benanti:
This Tony award winner and 2011 nominee was a class act on the red carpet with her non-fussy hair and simple Notte by Marchesa gown.
WORST DRESSED

1. Judith Light:
All right lets start at the top. What is going on with her hair? She looks like a washed out Charlie’s Angel circa 1970. I never thought I would say this about an Alexander McQueen dress but why would anyone choose to match the red carpet? This is just all wrong, period.

2. Christie Brinkley:
Ok everyone all together now…REAL.LIFE.BARBIE. Just to clarify, that’s not a compliment.

3. Brooke Shields:
Here’s a rule that every woman should follow in everyday life. REFRAIN from wearing anything that makes you look bigger than you really are.
