Best Summer Hair Trends: Bohemian Braids

If any of you have been keeping tabs on my other posts, you will know that healthy hair is my number one priority. I've thrown away all of my heat styling appliances and looked for better, safer ways of achieving glamorous hair styles. From the time I was a little girl, I loved wearing long braids - they made me feel like a medieval princess. Now that my hair is pretty short, I'm disappointed that I can't recreate these trendy braided hairstyles as easily as I used to. However, with the help of some clever styling techniques and some hairpieces, even girls with short hair can enjoy this fun summer trend. Best of all, braided hairstyles are non-damaging and protect hair from the sun, sand and wind.
I know I have already mentioned LilithMoon in my "healthy curls" post, but she is also an incredible resource for learning how to do braided hairstyles. When I style my short hair with braided bangs, I use a variation on her instructions for a "French-Braided Fringe", which I have posted a link to above. I've also found the tutorial by alfmacyntire (also posted above) to be extremely helpful in dealing with my short hair.
Girls with long hair have tons more options. Fishtail braids are beautiful in superlong hair like Nicole Kidman's. If you don't have rapunzel locks, not to worry -Fishtail braids look best when they are fairly loose and a bit messy, so you can easily conceal some rows of clip-in hair extensions inside the braid.
